Water Management on the Farm

Learn to Flow, learn to Grow! The Importance of Managing Water Inputs and Outputs on the Farm.

Topics will include:

  • introduction: water quality and quantity
  • understanding, managing, and testing your water sources
  • understanding your local, state, and federal rules and regulations
  • assessing your irrigation needs for your crops and farm
  • designing your irrigation system
  • installing, calibrating, and maintaining your irrigation system
  • managing drainage and water outputs on the farm
  • NRCS EQIP practices: bringing it all together

Arrive at 7:30am to sign in and meet with other farmers. Workshop begins promptly at 8:00am.

  1. How is this event free?
    This workshop has been funded through a USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service Cooperative Agreement with Up in Farms.
  2. I’m a beginning farmer. Is it okay if I attend?
    The workshops are designed for farmers at all levels of experience.
  3. Will someone be there to help my farm if I need additional assistance?
    Yes! Staff from Up in Farms and NRCS are available to provide you free farm visitations and technical assistance.
