After serving for over 30 years as one of Mississippi's top soil scientists for USDA's National Resource Conservation Service, Delaney B. Johnson is now the resident Soil Conservation and Science Director for Up in Farms. Delaney provides soil management training and conservation consulting, including assisting farms develop full conservation plans.
Detjon is responsible for overseeing the company's software development, security, and maintenance operations while driving the technical strategy and roadmap. He is the "brains behind the cloud" for the soon-to-be-launched Farm 2 Cloud software platform.
George "Dex" Hewes serves as the Farm Technology Specialist for Up in Farms. Dex oversees the company's drone program and farm production equipment. Dex is also training to install micro-irrigation systems, internet-ready soil probes, and other conservation technologies for farms.
Kayla McMinn brings her extensive experience as a USDA GAP and Global GAP food safety trainer to Up in Farms, where she serves as the company's Food Safety and Quality Program Manager. Kayla provides farms with food safety trainings, audit preparation, corrective action mitigation, and complete food safety plan development.
Pawel joins Up in Farms in the new position of Director of Agronomy Technology. With a PhD in agronomy and a degree in computer science, Pawel is a driving force behind the algorithms and production records that power our soon-to-be launched Farm 2 Cloud software platform.
As the CEO at Up in Farms, David oversees the products, services, and content that the company develops. He also manages an extensive portfolio of USDA grants for the company and the partners of Up in Farms. David also manages the Video Training Program at Up in Farms.
